Indigenous Latin America Saluting the Argentine Flag
This is a visual work of art in commemoration of the Bicentennial of the Independence of the Argentine Republic. This event was held in the city of Tucuman, Argentina in September 2016.The Bicentennial theme developed in this art work has a positive and luminous perspective.
The artwork itself is 3 m high and 1.5 meters wide on a concrete surface, and combines diverse materials such as sand, limestone, concrete, natural mineral colours, and acrylics as part of its technical composition. The high relief has been worked to maximize the visual effect of exposure to natural sunlight. As the artwork is exhibited in a public art space and is subject to a visual analysis at a distance, its plastic composition lends itself to a clear understanding of its chromatic plans and composite simplicity.
The work was done as part of a collective effort by a work group led by myself, and comprised of young visual artists: Rosalina Cerritos and Jaime Torres from Vancouver, Canada and Santiago Lopez from Tucuman, Argentina.
